Cathy Parker

University at Albany

Cathy Parker is the Associate Director of Career and Professional Development at the University at Albany. She oversees the counseling of graduate students, the assessment activities, office technology, StrengthsQuest initiatives, and she presents on a variety of topics in classrooms.  Cathy serves on the Applied Learning Steering Committee at UAlbany and is also an at-large Senator.  She has been a member of SUNYCDO since 2008 and has been fortunate enough to attend the annual conference every year.  She has also been able to present at many of them.  Cathy holds a BS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY New Paltz.  Before switching to a career in Higher Education she gained over 20 years’ experience working in the computer industry.  She is a certified Life Coach and hold additional certifications in StrengthsQuest and MBTI.  Cathy has been at the University at Albany for 9 ½ years.
